Day 1 : Marrakech – Demnant – Ait Bougmez
Drive from Marrakech around 8 o’clock, heading to Demnat, break for breakfast, important city of the Central Atlas, being home for jewish berber, and an important religious and commercial centre along the berber history, we leave the city heading to a beautiful natural bridge ( Imi n Ifri ) formed 180 m years ago, little walk to discover this beautiful rock formation, before driving up the mountains across beautiful and traditional berber villages, amazing photos opportunity, we arrive to Tizi n Tirghist where you may discover prehistoric Engraving, a panoramic view over the Mgoun Mountains, drive down to happy valley, to our family host for lunch and relax before we have a small climb to the Unique Circular Grainery and marabout of Sidi Moussa (a saint, renowned for the care of spiritual diseases). The buildings are fortified and were once used by stokers and for the crops, jewelry and valuable documents. Magnificent views of the valley in three directions. After the descent to the village Tabant- the center of the valley (and the weekly Sunday market). return to gite, dinner and overnight with the family. 3 hour walk
Day 2 Discover the surrounding valleys:
Discovery of the valley
After breakfast, we head to El Had- a small town that is the economic heart of the valley. We reach Ibaqualliwn with its former granary and prehistoric ruins which make it a very important stop, discover dinosaurs foot prints . We go through a different path to reach the charming village of Ait Imi, This tour will allow us to discover the pastoral activity of the valley and to admire magnificent landscapes. We follow the valley to join Iskatafene and Ansous, we visit Tamalout We leave to the village and at the foot of Idoukalen collective old bank of Sidi Chita. We cross fields ( wheat, apple, poplar, walnut while gently, we will take the time to observe the daily work of the villagers in the fields and small grain mills.
Start the journey around 12pm to Marrakech, Continue to Azilal for lunch. Then around the pass of Oughbar (2200m) with panoramic views of the mountains M’goun. through Ouzoud-the most beautiful waterfalls in Morocco, 1 hour walk enjoying the waterfalls, macaque monkeys.. optional boat ride, lunch and drive back to Marrakech. 3 hours drive. 2 hour walk.
Note:
3 days option is Recommended for Families, April to October are the suitable months of the year to do this trip. The days are usually warm offering pleasant walks. Spring and Summer is the ideal season and the views are excellent when the flowers are in bloom.
